People with decision making skills have the ability to keep their dream on track. That really makes people smart. Even if we are healthy and wealthy, we may fail at some point when we don’t have the decision making ability.
Self development in decision making and taking the right decision at the right time will lead one to be the best. It is all about analyzing and realizing things in a short period of time.
A short, simple and silly story that makes you realize what is a decision making and how it is important.
A thief found a house in the middle of a village and he got to know that it is the biggest house in the village. He decided to steal things in the house on the same night. He came into the house by jumping beyond the wall and started searching to steal something. Then he noticed that the securities were standing near the lockers.
Then he decided to go back. Suddenly he noticed something and just opened that. It was a bundle of onions. He thought it better to take the onion bundles instead of returning with nothing. When he started moving silently, he was noticed by security and was caught.
The next morning, the securities handed over him to the owner of the house and explained what he did. The owner asked the thief about the theft and the thief accepted the crime.
The owner decided to give the thief one of the below 3 judgments,
- Pay Rs.100 fine
- Get 100 slaps
- Eat the onions that you had stolen
The thief decided to go with option 3 ‘Eating the stolen onions’.
He started eating the onions. He started feeling irritable, his eyes became reddish and tears started coming out. He couldn’t make it and said the owner that he would like to go with option 2 ‘Getting 100 slaps’.
The owner accepted his decision started slapping on his cheeks. He felt okay when the owner was just started slapping him. Then the thief started crying after getting 60 slaps and said the owner that he couldn’t get it.
He decided to go with option 1 ‘Paying Rs.100 fine’ and he left the house after paying.
Moral of the story:
This might be a simple and silly story. But this tells the importance and deeply explains the decision making ability. If the thief had decided to pay Rs.100 at the first, he could have avoided the rest. Thinking smart in tough situations shapes our mind, increases our experience and boosts up our confidence level.
